360 conection woes

Hiya,

Sorry to trouble you, but I hear you are the oracle when it comes to XboxLive connection issues.

I got the 2Mb Sky BB over a year ago, and have played online with no issues. Then on Tuesday evening (13 Nov), I coul dnot connect to any COD4 game rooms (as it turned out the COD servers were down, so not my issue), and I was able to play PES06 online.

However, yesterday (Weds 14 Nov) when I tried to lof onto XboxLive (just to see friends/messages, not a game), it failed to connect. When I run the Test Live command, it fails on DNS.

I am using the standard Netgear Modem that Sky sends you when you join. It is hard wired to my Xbox, and nothing else is plug into it.

I have not touched any settings on either the Netgear or the Xbox, it was working fine, now is not.

My Laptop connectes via WiFi, but I have not been able to check if I can get online with the Laptop, as it is away this week.

My PSP can not connect to the web either, it has previously connected without issues, and it states DNS Error as the reason it cant now.

hi sry just seen this not sure if you got it fixed yet or not there is a few things to try below is the first thing that comes to mind as u menction the psp wont conect either try what is below if not already sorted

was the power off on the router at all
if so your ip could have reset itself it will be the one with 192.168.0._ the last number might have changed try 1,2,3,4,5 to get online if you don’t have a computer handy

if you have a computer hooked on the router start, Accessories, somewhere after that you’ll find command prompt go into that and type ipconfig and hit enter this’ll bring up the computers ip for u. check this number off against the one the x box is trying to connect to again it will be as above 192.168 etc

ive had this happen on my wii and 360 before so ill start with that if u have a computer handy hop onto the game clans ventrilo we might be able to help u easier on there

well anyone else got any thoughts or ideias on the issue
at the moment with the info to hand it seems his ip got altered bit like my torrents ip goes from 2-4 and no download for me lol anyhow posted it hear to help others if get the same prob
