I helped a friend setup his PS3 with a linksys router and it worked straight out of the box via wireless (or so he says ) That being said there where some ports used by the PS2 that you could try to forward to the PS3 IP, I would imagine they havent changed the ports since they registered them, just an idea. Ports are: TCP 4658, 4659 and UDP 4658 and 4659. Forward these to ur PS3, if ur not sure how just ask Its a weird one as communication is initiated by the PS3 so it shouldnt be blocked by default |

ok, i change and did everything that was advised to....nothing, so i then decided to connect my ps3 wth my eithernet cable to my router, i know that i should had done that first time, but as u will find out it wasnt that easy. So for me to connect my ps3 to my router i can to take my tv and my ps3 upstairs. I then plug it all in and the eithernet cable and bang, it came up. I then unplugged it agian and thougt i'll try wirelessly again and wallop i connect.... I made sure ( Wirelessly that is ) that i was able to serve, sign up on the playstationstore etc etc and i was able. Everything working fine... I then move the tv and ps3 back down stairs and guess what...nothing...so its the distance between my router and my ps3.... So im going to move the Router downstairs...... Thanks for all the advance..... |
